Hair loss has been described as one of the main undermining factors of today. This simply means that many of those who are affected by this tend o be affected in that they end up getting a low self esteem. To prevent this, various medical elites have come up with various theories as to why hair loss incidents are becoming more and more rampant in both sexes hence coming up with the remedy. Most of them have come to the conclusion that hair loss is more of hereditary effect. This is partly true; inheritance of traits is not the only reason behind the loss of hair. In some cases, it is due to nutrition al deficiency. Lack of some basic nutrients in one’s diet might led to the thinning of hair which in the end might even lead to the loss of hair. In that case, it is only wise that one sticks to a balanced diet in order to maintain his or her original volume of hair. Below are some diet tips that have been proved to be highly effective especially in cases where one tend to loss hair due to deficiency reasons.

First and foremost, one of the main nutrients when it comes to growth of hair is protein. In that case, a diet that is low in proteins might be one of the factors that leave one highly susceptible to hair loss. Therefore, tip number one is that you should make sure that your diet always has a reasonable amount of protein. All in all, too much of anything is poisonous and the same applies to this case.

On the other hand, whereas one requires protein in plenty, there are some food components that one requires to reduce. These include fats and sodium. If one takes any of these elements or even both of them excessively, then there is a high probability that this might lead to sudden hair loss. The biological explanation behind this is that these two elements tend to increase the acidity of the blood hence scotching the hair follicles. Alternatively, a lot of fat increases the testosterone levels in the body which in turn results in baldness. This mainly applies to males.

Despite the fact that general fats are not recommended in your diet, there are particular kinds of fats that help in the growth of hair. These are the mono-saturated kind of fats. In other words, these are the kind of fats that are found in foodstuffs such as virgin olive oil or even nuts. These fats help in the general growth of hair since they help revitalize follicles. As a result, the follicles tend to produce more hair. In that case, another factor to consider when coming up with a diet to curb hair loss is the amount of nuts one takes. Last but not least, ones lifestyle plays a major role in the growth of hair and specifically the amount of fun one has. This mainly refers to the amount of alcohol one takes. Too much alcohol also predisposes one to hair loss. In that case, limit your alcohol intake.

Hair loss starts happening to people in all age groups. Surprisingly, young people who face this problem do not show too much concern as most of them believe it to be a temporary  phenomenon and it happens to e so in majority of cases. People who show real concern are those who have reached middle age and are in a transitional stage from a young flirt to a family man. It is strange because people in this age group should be concerned more with their careers, family matters and other serious things, rather than their appearance. That said many people are afraid that looking more aged than their actual age may seriously affect their career prospects, with competition from people looking much younger. The problem of hair loss does not leave out women even though baldness does not happen. Thinning of hair cannot be avoided as it is a natural process.

Hair loss is a problem with which all people feel totally powerless, whatever steps are advocated by the medical fraternity are only palliatives and not a total remedy. The causes for hair loss have been identified as heredity. Lack of protein, iron and minerals in the diet, and some ovarian diseases in the case of women, a real solution is yet to come about. Improving the diet is not difficult. Similarly, maintaining the hair in good condition is very critical. Washing of hair regularly is needed. Soap is to be avoided for cleaning the hair and a good shampoo must be used. Shampoos help in keeping the hair and scalp free of scales, grease dirt etc.

There are several recommendations for maintaining the hair properly to prevent hair loss. Hair follicles absorb vitamins and nutrients necessary from the food taken that should be rich in protein. A steady growth of strong hair can be expected. Shampoo should be selected for washing to suit your scalp. An oily scalp needs thorough washing than a dry scalp. It is advisable not to use a brush or a fine tooth comb on a wet hair because the hair is at its weakest when it is wet. Therefore it is better to use a wide tooth comb. The hair should be protected from direct sun. Rough handling of wet hair with a towel is to be avoided as it results in entangling of the hair. It may sound strange but drinking of water is recommended to keep the hair well moisturized.

People start getting concerned when the bald patches start appearing for a receding forehead. The effort therefore is to cover or hide the bald portions. Many people grow the hair long and the excess length is used to cover the bald patches. This method instead of improving a person’s appearance only makes the person look funny. A wig is the most natural method which does not require any effort. Wigs of various size and shapes with different colors are available and it is easy to wear it. However, a person wearing wig will stand out clearly which should not be a problem. Expensive hair transplant is the best solution at present for hair loss.
